Mellower Coffee, a popular coffee house from Shanghai, has opened another branch in Bugis. This is probably one of the biggest cafe in town and is also the first global flagship store outside of China. The interior is spacious as there are cosy couches available, which is suitable for chilling out.

Carrying coffee beans from many regions of the world, they strive to give guests the best coffee experience, be it in taste or presentation. Their house blend coffee is specially flown in from Shanghai.

Sitting before me is one of the most Instagram worthy coffee – Sweet Little Rain ($9.80). Served on a wooden tray, a generous puff of candy floss dangles over a cup of Americano. As the steam from the hot coffee rises, the “cloud” of cotton candy melts and drips into the cup like rain, which makes it similar to our local Kopi-o Kosong. It can get a little messy as the sugar drips onto the edges of the cup. However, this cup of coffee is undeniably unique, even if a little gimmicky.

Specially created for the flagship stall, Ondeh x latte is infused with coconut and fragrant gula melaka. The sweetness is balanced with a shot of espresso. This coffee drink is a rich and creamy treat that I can easily finish even after a full meal.

If these coffee drinks are too creative for you, go for the classic espresso, latte and cappuccino. My cup of Cappuccino was great! I fell in love with its creaminess and nutty finish. I will definitely be back regularly for my energy booster.
