Formally known as 769 Yishun Duck Rice Kway Chap, it was a favourite amongst many foodies for close to 20 years. Started on the year 1993 by Ah luck and passing down to his son ‘Ah Di’. Hence it now renamed to Ah Di Duck Rice Kway Chap.

Ah Di’s braised duck was immensely likeable by many foodies. The braising sauce was smooth and lightly thickened, it had excellent balance of sweet and savoury flavours. Ladled over thin slices of duck, the meat had good bite, but could have been more tender. I am happy to see two kinds of chilli provided. One was a fragrant sambal, the other a tangy dip, both were appetizing.

The kway chap that we tried was another matter altogether. As with all good kway chap stalls, their innards are well-cleaned and supple. The pig innards were well braised and chewy to the bite. The kway comes hot and slippery, they were smooth and the accompanying broth used was light the herbal taste was not too overpowering. The fresh chilli dip was a good balance of spiciness and tartness, providing lots of zing.

While there is not much hype on this stall, give it a try if you are in the area. I say give their kway chap a try if you are intending to join the queue!
