Ramen is always a good idea. Sō Ramen offers a wide variety of ramen options comprising three types of noodles, five soup variants, and an ensemble of toppings. You should try the Grand Tonkotsu Ramen. The creamy tonkotsu-based broth is paired with hosomen (thin noodles), freshly torched chashu, melt-in-your mouth pork cheek, and a humongous slab of pork belly.

Working from home and missing our hawker food? The Dream Shop is your solution. Chef Jeremy Nguee has launched his online pop-up shop where he recreates hawker food in a different way. Most of the dishes are on a rotation basis and the menu changes every month. This month, he has launched “The Great Nasi Lemak Grain Bowl”.

There are three different nasi lemak for you to choose from – Angus Beef Cheek Rendang Nasi Lemak ($18), Fried Chicken Berempah Nasi Lemak ($18), and Tempeh Berempah and Mushroom Rendang Nasi Lemak ($16) for our vegetarian friends. Each main dish comes with Blue Pea Coconut Rice, Sweet Sambal, Grilled Cauliflower and Garlic, Sambal Corn Elote, Beetroot and Sambal, Miso Sambal Eggplant, Serundeng. You can also add on their signature Ngoh Hiang and Caramel Char Siew.

End your meal on a sweet note with Mrs Kueh’s popular kueh salat ($40 for a 5-by-8-inch kueh salat). The kueh salat is made with pure pandan juice, fresh coconut cream, and the highest quality glutinous rice. No artificial essence or colourings added.

Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant

Craving for chicken rice or ‘zichar’ dishes such as salted egg pork rib, black pepper beef and curry fish head? Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant is offering islandwide delivery!

Their poached chicken is juicy and tender, and has a lovely hint of ginger. The chicken is sliced and served alongside rice, chilli sauce and a fragrant bowl of chicken broth. The rice at Wee Nam Kee is well-oiled, mildly fragrant, yet not too greasy.

It has always been Miss Tam Chiak’s intention to introduce good eats in Singapore, and there is no better way to exemplify what we do than to share these recommendations via our own virtual restaurant Chiak Local.

The menu features hawker favourites such as Nasi Goreng, Ayam Penyet, and Naan which can be enjoyed ala carte or in set menus, which are packaged accordingly to party size. Quirky set menus include “No Money No Honey”, which serves one; “Lovey Dovey”, ideal for couples, and “Got Big Got Small”, made for communal sharing among four.
