Opened at Hougang 1 in the first week of April, Thai Super Bowl has been drawing customers’ attention due to their huge pots/trays of tomyum seafood soups. The interior is brightly lit, and the casual setting makes the place feel welcoming.

To our surprise, it was full house when we arrived for dinner around 7.30pm. The space isn’t massive and you won’t be assigned to your seat. Just wait for an available table before making your orders at the counter.

Their signature Super Bowl ($36 for 4-6 pax) consists of mussels, prawns, crab sticks, squids, meatballs, minced meat and 2 eggs. Served with maggie noodles in a tomyum broth, we were expecting some fiery punch from the tomyum broth. Unfortunately, there were too much coconut milk in the broth and it was too mellowed down.

Nevertheless, the mussels are plump and juicy while the prawns are quite fresh. The chewy squids are prepared well too. However, we didn’t like the artificial taste of the crab sticks. There are other dishes served throughout the day as well, ranging from Thai curry to a variety of rice and noodle dishes, desserts and drinks.

If you’re here on a date, you can go for Super Seafood Bowl ($18.90 for 1-2 pax) or Super Chicken Bowl ($13.90 for 1-2 pax). The Thai super bowls are only available from 6pm till closing.
