Resting at the foot of Mount Faber, Fuel Plus+ is a sister cafe of Refuel Café at Bedok. Unlike the industrial-themed Refuel café, Fuel Plus+ has a minimalist design with Scandinavian touch to the interior, exuding a relaxing and cozy atmosphere for an afternoon meal.

As it is hidden away from the main road, you would have to take a short walk into Wishart Road before you can actually see the cafe.

The Soft Shell Crab Curry ($18) was an interesting dish that caught my attention. The rich and creamy curry was not too spicy, and the gentle hint of lemongrass elevated the flavors. The soft shell crab was crispy and so filled with juiciness that you could eat it all up. Upon finishing, you could also soak the crusty bread with all the goodness so as to not let the sauce go to waste.

One of the recommended mains was the Honey BBQ Babyback Ribs ($19). Although it was stated as slow baked tender pork ribs, the texture of the meat was not as “tender” as it seems. The meat was quite tough unfortunately. Nonetheless, the grilled corn on cob was really sweet and they were quite generous in the portion for the rib.

The PUMP it Up Hotcake ($16) brought a sweet ending to our meal. Baked with apple cubes and cinnamon, the hotcake was thick and moist inside. The thickness was probably what made it slightly doughy. The sweet and sour berries complements the creamy vanilla ice cream, and there was also a slight nutty flavor from the pistachio crumbs.

Accompany your meal with either a cup of coffee or a cup of Fuel Ice Tea ($5), that’s filled with sweet-citrusy flavors. It was a cooling and refreshing companion to have on a hot and sunny day.
